Taiwo Adeniji currently serves as a Director and Head of Financial Institutions & Advisory Services at Africa Finance Corporation (AFC). Since assuming this role, Taiwo has led the provision of financial advisory and structuring services for AFC’s infrastructure investments, as well as providing advisory services regarding infrastructure policies and programmes to public sector agencies. He led the teams that advised the Federal Ministry of Finance of Nigeria on the financing of critical infrastructure projects and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on its National Infrastructure Financing Policy. He currently leads the team that serves as the Technical Adviser to the CBN on the implementation of the US$2billion Power and Aviation Intervention Fund. Taiwo has deep knowledge and extensive experience with infrastructure policy issues, as well as the analysis, evaluation and financing of infrastructure projects. During a 13-year tenure (1994 – 2007) at the African Development Bank, Taiwo worked on infrastructure policy formulation and managed the financing of infrastructure investments in some of Africa’s largest economies. Taiwo also supervises the AFC’s Trade Finance desk, from which trade finance transactions in excess of US$1billion have been executed over the last six years. Taiwo has an academic background in Economics and Finance.
