Our Commitment to Sustainable Development and Local Content.
KIPP has been developed in accordance with the Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards for Environmental and Social Sustainability as well as local Ghanaian environmental guidelines and standards.
As part of its sustainability commitment, Cenpower Generation Ltd, in collaboration with various stakeholders, organizes an annual beach cleanup event, KIPP Clean. This initiative not only enhances local shoreline ecosystems but also supports long-term environmental health. Additionally, Cenpower nurtures mangrove seedlings to aid in habitat restoration and coastal resilience, contributing to a more sustainable and balanced ecosystem
Going forward, we will seek to ensure that Ghanaian enterprises benefit from Cenpower’s operations by creating transparent and tangible joint business opportunities.
The project has created 1,536 jobs (at peak of construction) and 82 permanent jobs thereafter. We are committed to sustainable capacity building via a training and skills transfer programme.
