Sean MacDonald |
Sean joined African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM) in 2013 with a focus on asset management. Sean helps guide AIIM's portfolio companies through project execution with a focus on implementing the investment thesis to drive business efficiencies and enhance value for our investors. Sean represents the AIIM funds as a director on the Boards of the Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concessionaire, Trans African Concessions and N3 Toll Concession.
Prior to joining AIIM, Sean spent almost 10 years with the Macquarie infrastructure funds management team, predominantly in the transport sector. During that time he worked on a number of large-scale transactions for Macquarie's listed toll road fund ranging from green-field bids, acquisitions, disposals and refinancing.
In addition, he has considerable asset management experience having represented Macquarie's interest as director on several portfolio businesses in Europe including Autoroutes Paris-Rhine-Rhone in France, Lusoponte in Portugal and M6Toll Road in the UK. The role also involved internal fund aspects such as asset valuations, internal reporting and investor relations. Earlier in his career Sean worked for the investment division of a leading international contractor on a range of PPP projects in the health, accommodation and transport sectors. Sean holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and an MBA.
